About
Boston has incredible theater, but it’s not always easy to know what to see or where to start. Scene in Boston is here to help—connecting the dots between shows, stages, and audiences, and making the city’s theater scene easier (and more fun!) to explore.
With podcast episodes, a theater calendar, and bonus online content we look forward to seeing you at the theater!
Laura Amico, founder, co-host

Laura Amico is a Boston-based journalist, BPS mom, inclusion advocate, and Masters swimmer. She’s seen every play in the Ufot Family Cycle so far and has a soft spot for ART. She’s not a theater geek, doesn’t perform anything, and can rarely afford a babysitter for a night at the theater. But she tries!
Most memorable shows: The Tempest and Life of Pi at A.R.T., and Our Town at the Barrymore Theatre in New York.
Lisa Thalhamer, executive producer, co-host

Lisa Thalhamer is a journalist and researcher. She’s currently editor-in-chief of The Scope, a hyper-local publication in Boston, as well as an adjunct professor at Northeastern University. Her research focuses on improving the mental well-being of journalists, particularly those in local TV news. Thalhamer has produced newscasts for TV stations in Boston; Manchester, NH; and Portland, Maine. Most recently, she was a field producer for WCVB’s Chronicle, the nation’s longest running, locally produced news magazine. Thalhamer has also received a New England Emmy award for her work at WCVB.
