Hi. It's Me Again.
If you've listened to Scene in Boston this season, I'm asking for your help.
Season One was made possible through support from the Boston Opportunity Fund and the Massachusetts Cultural Council. That funding allowed us to launch the project, build partnerships, work with students at Boston Arts Academy, and spend a season exploring what makes Boston theater special.
Now we're planning Season Two.
The students are lined up. The interviews are already starting. The theaters are announcing their seasons. We know what we want to build next.
But to keep going, we need funding.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 to support reporting, production, student mentorship, equipment, website costs, and the many behind-the-scenes expenses that make independent journalism possible.
So today I'm asking a simple question:
Can we raise our first $1,000 by next Friday?
If Scene in Boston has helped you discover a show, understand a production, meet an artist, or simply feel more connected to Boston's theater community, please consider making a contribution.
Every donation is tax deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Tiny News Collective.
As a thank you, everyone who donates will receive a downloadable PDF guide to the 2026-27 Boston theater season—our attempt to make it easier to see what's coming, discover something new, and plan your year of theatergoing.
And because theater is ultimately about gathering together, we're also planning some community events for supporters, including a Scene in Boston meetup at Shakespeare on the Common this summer. For larger supporters, we're exploring a donor picnic before the show.
We're looking for support at every level:
- Small-dollar donors who can give $10, $25, or $50.
- Larger donors who want to help sustain independent arts journalism in Boston.
- Sponsors and organizational partners interested in supporting the work.
If you'd like to talk about sponsorships, major gifts, partnerships, or other ways to support Scene in Boston, I'd love to hear from you.
This project exists because people believe local arts journalism matters.
If you're one of those people, now is the moment to help us build Season Two.
Thank you for listening, reading, sharing, and supporting this work.
