And we’re back!
Scene in Boston returns with a look at the new theater season—and what might get you into the audience.
October what? The end of summer has flown by, school is now definitely in session, and the theater schedule is jam-packed. There's plenty to catch that's spooky on stage right now, but also some deep (and funny) family dramas, and more.
To kick off the season, WBUR theater critic Jacquinn Sinclair joins us in this episode for a look at what’s coming to Boston stages all year long—and what might get you into the audience.

You don’t need to have followed every season announcement or already know what you want tickets to. Come curious. That’s enough.
Listen to this episode if you…
- Want to find a show that speaks to your interests, even if you don’t recognize its title.
- Are curious about what’s coming to Boston stages this season.
- Love having someone to talk theater with—or want a little company as you figure out where to begin.

I’m also happy to be back making these conversations with students at Boston Arts Academy, Boston’s public arts high school. Their questions and curiosity are part of what makes this project such a pleasure.
Whether you listened throughout our first season or are joining us for the first time, welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
See you at the theater,
Laura
