Stay inside this weekend. Just make it theater.

I have tickets to Covenant this weekend, but I’ll be honest: I get crabby about leaving the house when the weather is bad... but I know I’ll be happy once I get there. It’s a music-forward Southern Gothic thriller from Boston favorite SpeakEasy Stage—and now that I think about it, what could put me in the mood for a spooky show better than a dark, rainy day? Sounds pretty perfect for the season actually!

If you’re willing to put on your raincoat, there’s plenty more to see. It’s closing weekend for Rhinoceros at A.R.T., though the remaining performances are sold out. It’s also the last weekend for Come From Away at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly. Purpose is at the Calderwood Pavilion, Wicked is at Citizens Bank Opera House, and Eleanor is playing at Central Square Theater.

If you cannot bear to emerge from under your blankets this weekend, I understand. Eleanor has been extended through October 11, so you can catch it another day.

Whatever you decide to see, check with the theater for weather-related updates before heading out. I’ll be keeping an eye on the forecast—and looking forward to Covenant.

See you at the theater,

Laura
